Release information

This card was included as a Regular card and a Full Art special illustration rare card in the Prismatic Evolutions special expansion, first released in the Japanese Terastal Fest ex subset. The Regular print features artwork by aky CG Works and the special illustration rare print features artwork by tono.

A variant of the Prismatic Evolutions Regular print was available as a possible card in the Prismatic Evolutions Surprise Box from February 7, 2025. This variant features the Prismatic Evolutions expansion logo on the left side of the illustration.

A second special illustration rare print, also originating from Terastal Fest ex (numbered 224/187), was available as an SVP Black Star Promo in the Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection, which was released on May 16, 2025. It features background artwork by Natsuko Shoji été and Pokémon artwork by N-DESIGN Inc. (the latter is uncredited on the card).

In Japan, the Regular print of this card is reprinted in the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection.

Rulings

• Eevee ex's "Rainbow DNA" Ability only allows it to evolve by the player putting the Evolution card on top of it from their hand. Any alternative methods of Evolution, notably ones that put the Evolution cards from the deck (eg. Grand Tree, Technical Machine: Evolution), cannot be used to evolve Eevee ex.

Trivia

• A sneak peek of this card's Regular print, along with the Terastal Fest ex booster pack that the card is included in, was featured in the "OPEN UP" promotional video, released on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel on October 20, 2024 (the 28th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game).
  • The 223/187 special illustration rare print of this card was first revealed on the official X (formerly Twitter) account for Project Eevee on November 21 (Eevee Day), 2024.
• The cost for the Coruscating Quartz attack utilizes the three Energy types that represent the original three Eeveelutions: Fire (Flareon), Water (Vaporeon), and Lightning (Jolteon).

Origin

This card features a Terastallized Eevee with the Stellar Tera Type. The Coruscating Quartz attack is named after quartz, the mineral form of silica (silicon dioxide); it is one of the most abundant minerals in the Earth's crust and is normally colorless, but can also come in many different colors.
